Fibre
The flax used to make our linen is grown in France, where the flax plant needs minimal water, energy, pesticides, and fertilisers to grow, making it one of the most naturally sustainable fibres. TENCEL™ Lyocell is known for its innovative closed loop production process. Wood pulp is transformed into cellulosic fibres, while more than 99.8% of the solvent are recovered and fed back into the loop, resulting in close-to-zero wastage. The wood used as raw material for all TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres is sourced from certified (FSC® or PEFC certification*) or controlled wood sources. TENCEL™ Lyocell and Modal fibres are certified as biodegradable and compostable** *FSC® (FSC-C041246) or PEFC (PEFC/06-33-92) certification **LENZING™ Lyocell standard fibers are certified by TÜV AUSTRIA as biodegradable in soil, freshwater and marine environments, and compostable under home and industrial conditions. TENCEL™ is a trademark of Lenzing AG
Fabric
Our heavier-weight lyocell and linen fabric has a silky feel with a matte surface. It is woven in a fine 1/3 twill which gives the fabric an excellent drape. The styles are garment dyed which means applying colouring after the garment has been sewn. This allows us to dye only the amounts and colours we know our customers like.
Factory
The garments are made in Portugal by our supplier with whom we have worked for almost 10 years. Carla is always forthcoming and expert in her field, always a pleasure to work with.
